The climate at the Grand Canyon is very arid.  The canyon displays many different layers of rock of varying ages.  A lot can be learned about the Great Basin just by looking at the Grand Canyon.

    With clear skies for the majority of the year at the Grand Canyon, the sunsets can be very plain.  Looking at this another way, there are not many places in the world with canyons this large.  This makes these sunsets unique.
