and one of the fastest growing ranges in the world. The beauty of
this park is found in the different lighting situations that can change
a peak.
Birding is also something that can be enjoyed along the Snake River
especially at Oxbow Bend.

Washburn/Geyser Basins
Yellowstone National Park is one of the best places
to observe geo-thermal activity in motion. Along with the
scenery, there is an abundance of wildlife. Bison can be found
almost anywhere in the park and with some patience, a variety of birds
can be spotted.

Hoffmann/Sunrise HS Camp
Yosemite
National Park is by far my favorite park. I have been coming to
this park since i was very young. It offers a wide variety of
scenery including some of the most magnificent views in the entire
country. There are many spots of this park that one will never
see in their lifetime unless you are willing to hike.

Denali National
Park is home to the largest mountain in North America, Mount McKinley,
standing over twenty thousand feet. McKinley is also known as
Denali to the natives of the area. The mountainous terrain and
river valleys are rich with wildlife making it a great destination for
those who like encounters with wildlife.

Wrangle-St.
Elias National Park and Preserve is the largest National Park in the
United States. Mount St. Elias is the tallest mountain in the
park located at the southern end of the park and it stands at over
eighteen thousand feet. There are many species of wildlife that
can be found here making it an ideal location for a preserve.

Glacier Bay National Park is located northwest of Juneau,
Alaska along the outermost inlets along the coast. This park has
gone through significant changes over the past several decades.
The glaciers used to nearly cover the entire park in the early
twentieth century. Many of these glaciers are now rapidly
receeding.

Pinnacles is an
interesting park. It is one of the only places you will find
California Condors. It is also a park created by a fault line
that has displaced the mountains 150 miles north of origin. |

Located in southwestern Utah, Bryce Canyon National
Park is part of the Great Basin. Bryce Canyon is mostly comprised
of Sandstone which erodes rather quickly. This facilitates the
formation of hoodoos. |

Mount Rushmore National Monument is located in the
Black Hills of western South Dakota. It is a very small monument
but there are many other places to see in the Black Hills. |

southeastern Utah, Arches National Park
is part of the Great Basin. Arches has the greatest density of
natural arches in the world.

Great Smoky
Mountains National Park is the largest
park on the east coast. There are many hikes and several
waterfalls to view along the way. This park offers an interesting
climate to photograph.

Located in
southwestern Colorado, Mesa Verde National Park offers a great look at
ruins for anthropology lovers. There are several hikes that will
take visitors into some of the ruin areas on guided hikes.

Located in
southwestern Utah, Zion National Park is part of the Great Basin.
The canyon walls of this park rise up 2000' - 3000'.

Grand Canyon
National Park is located in Arizona and is part of the southern most
part of the Great Basin. With the highest parts of the canyon
reaching up into the mid-layers of the Great Basin, the lowest parts of
the canyon are some of the oldest rock found in the world.

Located in
South Dakota, Badlands National Park is comprised of mudstone.
This is a relatively small park with not many hikes available; much of
the park can be seen from a vehicle.

Cedar Breaks
National Park can be found in Utah. The park is part of the Great
Basin and is comprised of the top layer of the Great Basin. In
the future, as erosion takes place, this park will begin to look more
like Bryce Canyon.
