My name is Jeff Herzstein.  I currently live in Fremont, California.  I graduated from San Jose State University in Spring 2005 with a degree in meteorology.  I'm not currently working in meteorology but I plan on moving into the field soon.  Photography has been a hobby of mine for several years.  I enjoy the peacefulness and tranquility of photography and the challenges it offers.  I developed this web site to display my work in photography and to give access to meteorological data from my weather station.  Below you will find information on the camera gear I use.

Background/History/Goals
I got interested in photography because of my parents.  I have been taking pictures since 1999.  I started out by taking a beginning photography class.  I shot black and white film and developed my own negatives and prints in a wet lab.  From there I began shooting digital with a point and shoot camera.  Recently I purchased my digital SLR body.  I love shooting scenery for the most part but I have recently found shooting wildlife to be a much more daunting task.  This new challenge has been more rewarding than I first thought it would be.  Wildlife photography is much more difficult because a higher degree of equipment is required to get quality shots.  Ultimately, my goal is to generate a extensive gallery of quality photographs.
